LG V20 Hands-On: Another Absolute Monster (Video)
If there’s a device that will save LG this year, this may just as well do the trick.
The V20 feels like it has to not only live up to its trail-blazing V10, but also surge past its direct predecessor, the G5, after some lukewarm critical reception and meager sales. And so far, it looks like this sleek new program is doing both jobs well.
There’s a lot that the company has packed into an all-metal chassis like this one: dual rear-cameras, four DACs from ESS and tuned with the help of Bang & Olufsen, a refined Second Screen and a unique rear hatch that can play all the favorites like a removable battery, microSD and SIM card. Did we mention that this whole thing is rated MIL-SPEC 810G? Just like the V10.
But the hardware is only the beginning of the story. Software includes a very-vaunted Android Nougat launch with the inclusion of LG’s software skin — darn that app drawer once again, but we’ll have to wait until the final version to make the call — and the most robust camera control system for both photos and videos.
