LG Stylus 2 To Debut At Mobile World Congress (PRNewsFoto/LG Electronics MobileComm U.S.A)

The cards don’t always come the way you want them. But if we’re looking at LG’s cards correctly, it plans on having the G5, G5 Lite, X screen and X cam devices share MWC showroom real estate in Barcelona next week. If that isn’t enough smartphone for you, just add one more.

LG has pre-launched the Stylus 2, intended to be the successor of last year’s G4 Stylus — or, in North America, the G Stylo.

One of the major changes comes in shrunken dimensions as the Stylus 2 will be 2mm thinner and about 21g lighter than the G4 Stylus. 1.5GB of RAM on the new slab represents a 50 percent improvement. The cameras get a resolution bump with back/front splits going from 8/5 to 13/8 megapixels. The new “nano-coated pen tip” on the stylus now comes in a silo that detects if the user is walking away with an empty shaft.

Carryover features include the 3,000mAh removable battery, a 5.7-inch 720p display, expandable storage and a low-speed quad-core chipset.

A US launch comes “later this year.”
