LG Spectrum: Verizon’s “Revolution 2” Revealed (Photos)

Those initial rumors have panned out regarding the so-called “Revolution 2” on Verizon: as first reported by Droid-Life, it is indeed the LG Spectrum, which showed up in a Verizon system last month, that will assume the identity of well-known model number VS920. With a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 720p HD resolution, and HD-capable eight-megapixel camera, the LTE-equipped Spectrum should represent yet another very attractive option in VZW’s winter lineup; between this, the RAZR, Rezound, and Galaxy Nexus — not to mention the DROID4 — there’s not even close to a clear cut choice for Big Red customers.

Although the photos are pretty small, we can tell that Spectrum has slimmed down some from its spiritual predecessor, with device thickness (after battery life) having been one of the main knocks agains first-generation LTE handsets. Also notable is LG’s consistency of design language when it comes to the button layout, as the trio here are nearly identical to those found on this year’s global Optimus devices — in fact, we think that the Gingerbread-powered Spectrum will end up being very much an Americanized Optimus LTE.
