LG’s new phablet in town, the Optimus G Pro hasn’t even been globally released yet, and it’s already breaking some sales records. So far the device sold 10k units in the first day in Korea, and it just reached 500k units sold in 40 days, and still ahead of it’s global launch planned some time within the current month of April.

Now what makes this even more interesting is that LG is treating this device as a proof of concept. They actually went as far as to treating potential customers with a 30-day trial of the device just to see how it felt before buying. There were also other promotions to push the device, and according to the public statement, this increase in communication between LG and the final customer has proven to be quite positive.

We sadly still don’t have an official date for a release on this side of the pond, but we’ll definitely keep you posted.
