Highest-quality purported image of LG Nexus 5 (2015) emerges
It doesn’t get much clearer and more authentic than this. Even though it’s technically unreleased, unannounced and unconfirmed yet, that’s almost definitely the Google/LG Nexus 5 (2015) pictured above.
Verified by two separate and extremely dependable sources, the image is apparently not a render, and for the most part, lines up with previously leaked, lower-quality photos. Rumored to be ultimately marketed as Nexus 5X, the affordable counterpart of the top-shelf Huawei Nexus 6 (2015) looks clean and straightforward, with a circular fingerprint scanner located underneath a protruding rear camera.
The main photographic unit is obviously not as disturbingly swollen as that of the Huawei-made Nexus handheld, while the dual LED flash arrangement nurses our hopes for a high-end (-ish) cam package. The family logo sticks out in traditional manner, but what’s perhaps surprising is LG appears to have ditched its own company emblem.
Fingers crossed we won’t see it occupy precious space on the device’s face, where it’d be nice if the screen bezels would indeed carry stereo speakers. Let’s wait for the “final” front design to also get fully and clearly exposed, and before casting judgment on the Nexus 5X’s potential, let’s wait for further confirmation in the specification department.
Currently, we expect the 5.2-incher to sport a Full HD display, hexa-core Snapdragon 808 SoC, 3GB RAM, 13 and 5MP cameras, 2,700 mAh battery, and USB Type-C connectivity.
