One year upgrades are tricky recommendations. The LG G5 features a radically new design over the curved LG phones of yesteryear. A metal frame is covered in a premium paint-like finish, and happily we can forget about some of the performance woes which dominated the conversation on phones like the G Flex 2.

While the G5 faces intense competition from Samsung and HTC right now, we also need to consider the other older phones in LG’s own stable. The LG G4 shares similar screen technology and almost identical main camera performance. Though the G5 is more powerful, how does battery life and audio playback fare against its predecessor?

For folks using a G4, has there been enough improvement to warrant upgrading after only one year? Part one of our LG Family Fight! LG G5 vs LG G4! Is this upgrade worth it?
