LG has taken it’s Knock-On from the G2 to the next level, as we’ve seen the new Knock Code in action with the occasion of our G Pro 2 hands-on video in Barcelona (alongside the G2 mini, F Series and L Series devices). This new way of unlocking the device is able to recognize one of close to 80,000 combinations of tapping the screen to life.

Next month (April), LG will start bringing Knock Code to other devices in its portfolio, via a software update. The G2 and G Flex are specifically being mentioned in the press release, however, with the wording “in specific countries”. Two to eight knocks, in a specific sequence, in a specific region, will be able to wake these devices as well once the update reaches the phones.
