LG Friends site opens up shop, redirects you to retailers

It seemed like LG was really about to hit 2016 out of the park, but so far, it hasn’t been the kindest of unwindings for the G5, its modular nature and not to mention one of its Friends. But hey, at least we now know what’s up with said Friends and where to get them as LG has launched a dedicated site featuring them.

You’ll mostly find that the site directs you to retailers where you can buy the modules. A “Playground” section will be populated with neat tips, tricks and reviews and there will be real-life events centered around the Friends, too. The company is encouraging tinkerers to hop on over to the LG Friends Developer site to get people messing around with the SDKs and making a new LG Friend.

Here is the current availability of the Friends, by country:

Product Korea UAE United Kingdom United States
LG Cam Plus ✔️ ✔️ ✔️ ✔️
LG Hi-Fi Plus ✔️ ✔️ ✔️
LG 360 VR ✔️ ✔️ ✔️ ✔️
LG 360 CAM ✔️ ✔️ ✔️ ✔️
LG Tone Platinum ✔️ ✔️ ✔️

Ouch. Seeing that LG Hi-Fi Plus blank for the US still hurts. At least the LG Rolling Bot home security product will be coming soon. That’s gotta count for something, I guess.
