The "crazy-fast" cross-platform messaging application, Kik, is now available for Symbian users to connect them with friends on iOS, Android, BlackBerry and Windows Phone, in real-time.

After a period of Beta testing, the app is now out and you can head over to the Nokia Store on your Symbian device to grab Kik. It will allow you to keep in touch with your friends quickly, as it is advertised to be "the fastest smartphone messenger". You'll also be able to receive instant message notifications for sent, delivered, and read messages.

"I think writing Symbian off is a very North American centric perspective and is quite premature. There are hundreds of millions of Symbian users globally, with millions more expected to be added to the platform with the last generations of Symbian devices", said Ted Livingston, CEO of Kik.
