iWatch rumors: two devices, flexible display, wireless charging and mobile payments?

If you’ve kept track of all the recent changes that have emerged on five beta updates for iOS 8, it’s clear that Apple needs a wearable in order for some of these services to work. That said, the amount of rumors regarding the iWatch is mixed as some say it’ll be announced on September 9, and others claim we won’t see it until 2015. Whatever the case may be, we’ve got new rumors on what to expect.

Both the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times have posted rumors on what to expect from the iWatch. To narrow these down on one post, the reports claim that there will be two iWatch models, one for him and one for her, which makes sense since no other company has really taken this plunge yet. The reports also claim that there will be a flexible display included, even though it will be protected by sapphire glass. What’s interesting is that apparently Apple did try to build this product with solar charging, and that experiment failed, so wireless charging seems to be the plan in the end.

The rumor also includes more detail on Apple’s plans to bring NFC. It seems that Apple is willing to adopt mobile payments, and that the iWatch will play a big role here. Apple is reportedly already in negotiations with credit card issuers in order to lower the transaction fees that currently exist with the idea of making the business feasible.

The only bad news about all this is that it seems the iWatch won’t be ready until 2015. Stay tuned for our full coverage of Apple’s September 9 event to see what we get.
