Apple iPhone SE tech specs: what hardware drives the new four-inch iPhone?

Ask, and ye shall receive; ever since Apple pushed its smartphone lineup into larger new territory with the iPhone 6, a certain subset of users has been clamoring for the return of a new four-inch option. And while the last couple years brought us nothing but more 4.7 and 5.5-inch models, hope persisted that one day Apple might deliver another handset that would combine cutting edge specs with a petite, pocket-friendly body.

But to hear the majority of rumors as of just a few months ago, would the iPhone’s return to the four-inch space see it compromise on specs? Would Apple cripple the phone with generation-old technology in an effort to emphasize the split between proper “full-sized” iPhone handsets and this new smaller model?

Today at its Cupertino campus Apple cleared the air once and for all, introducing the iPhone SE with not only a four-inch screen, but specs that put the model head-to-head with the current iPhone 6s flagships. Lets take a look at exactly how the new iPhone SE measures up to its larger sibling.
