Apple unveiled the third-generation iPhone SE 2022 on March 8 at the “Peek Performance” event. The iPhone SE 3rd gen. will become available from Friday, and we’re anxiously waiting to get our hands on the device, a new report from Taiwan-based analysts claims that Apple could ship as many as 30 million units this year.

According to DigiTimes (via MacRumors), Apple is expected to ship as many as 30 million iPhone SE 2022 devices in 2022 alone. The new estimates are coming from research analysts Sean Lin and Luke Lin. The number is based on how many iPhone SE 2020 units Apple managed to ship when it launched, in the first year from its release.

The report claims that Apple has enough components for about five million iPhone SE 2022 devices in the first quarter of this year, but it claims that the shipments for the more affordable device are expected to be lower than in the first quarter. The shipments are expected to rise to 11 million devices in the second quarter, while it’s expected to stay somewhat similar in the third and become lower in the fourth, which is when the iPhone 14 series are going to be announced.

The research also states that the iPhone SE will help populate the market with more 5G capable devices outside of China, and that most people will purchase it due to its significantly lower price tag, traditional iPhone design, and the physical home button with Touch ID, which is still present.
