The week of September 7 — with a possibility of September 9 — is what the latest rumors talk about with regards to Apple’s upcoming event. Of course, nothing’s certain until we see press invites going out, and, until then, we have to rely on various reports and leaks, like this most recent iPhone 6s assembly leak in the form of a video. When it comes to the iPhone 6c, things aren’t clear at all, with so many conflicting rumors hitting from all directions.
Last we heard about the iPhone 6c was last week when a report claimed we won’t see the phone until the second quarter of 2016 (after previously hearing that it might have been ditched). Now, on the complete opposite end, a leak from Evan Blass suggests that not only the iPhone 6c is still in the cards, but Apple will likely unveil it together with the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. The 6s versions of the current phones are expected to be launched at an upcoming event, likely at the beginning of September, as previously mentioned above.
The iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus are expected to look like their predecessors, but the specifications, as with all “s” releases, should be bumped. The new phones are also rumored to inherit Force Touch from the Apple Watch, in addition to other features. The iPhone 6c should be a cheaper version of the phone, pretty much like the iPhone 5c, which was the iPhone 5 with a plastic housing (so we could expect the iPhone 6c to be the iPhone 6’s plastic sibling).
