More proof of iPhone 6 shipping with reversible USB lightning cable

Reversible USB isn’t a thing yet, but the only way to make that happen, is if companies begin supporting it. Apple may not be famous for adopting technologies first, but we’ve learned that this highly depends on how mature or smart the technology is. A couple of decades ago, some users mocked Apple for being first in massively adopting technologies like USB and WiFi, and it seems this time has come again.

Just recently we saw some leaks that Apple was planning to launch the iPhone 6 with a new lightning cable that supports reversible USB. Sadly the images were kind of sketchy, and the source was hard to track. Today we get some leaked images by none other than Sonny Dickson, and given his track record in iPhone leaks, we could call this a confirmation.

Just like the lightning connector, reversible USB intends to help you plug any USB cable to a wall wart or a computer without the need of checking if you’re connecting it right. To some this may be an irrelevant feature, but to most of us, this is something that should’ve happened years ago. Let’s hope the rumors are true, and let’s also hope that other OEMs follow the trend.
