As we start moving into the second quarter of 2013, you had better believe that rumors about Apple’s next iPhone, presumed to be the iPhone 5S, will be picking up steam. We’ve been hearing about the possibility that Apple will launch the phone this summer, and have already seen a few dates tossed around. Last week, June 29 was put forth as a possibility, and while that date does have some historical significance, falling on a Saturday made it seem less than likely. Now there’s a new theory out, claiming that Apple could make its announcement even sooner.

Japan’s Mac Fan magazine claims that Apple is planning to launch the iPhone 5S on June 20, and it would hit retail sometime in July. Following all that, the cheaper iPhone we’ve heard rumored so many times would surface in August.

Even if this is true, we probably wouldn’t be able to confirm it for some time; Apple won’t send out invites until just a few weeks in advance, and though we can sometimes divine the company’s plans from scheduling availability when it’s working with a known venue, nothing like that has surfaced yet.
