iPhone 5 Display Comparison (Video)

We’ve seen pictures of what are supposed to be iPhone 5 components, showing-off the new case design to make room for a larger, widescreen display. We’ve taken a look at schematics, attempting to give us a precise idea of just how large a screen Apple will be using. If you’re having a bit of trouble grasping just what impact that will have on how you use an iPhone, you might want to check out this new video, showing one of these iPhone 5 components up against a current-gen iPhone, really demonstrating the scale of the changes.
When presented like this, that widescreen display ends up looking even taller than it did on its own, and probably has more than a few iPhone users questioning if this is the right move for Apple. It’s important to note how the iPhone isn’t getting any wider as a result of this change, so one-handed operation should still very much be possible, so long as developers don’t try using the whole vertical expanse of the screen for input.
Suffice it to say, we can’t wait to finally see iOS in action on a display this size.
