iPhone 3G Gets Android 2.3 Gingerbread Port
Google’s Android 2.3 Gingerbread mobile platform has been ported to Apple’s iPhone 3G smartphone after the same device successfully ran Android 2.2 Froyo back in June last year.
The iPhone 3G is jailbroken and even though Gingerbread seems to run a bit slow, everything else seems to work feature and functionality-wise. The port is based on the iDroid project which means that the Apple phone users will be able to run both operating systems, iOS and Android, being presented with an option to choose the platform in a dual-boot configuration.
