iPad Pro resolution hinted at 2732 x 2048 pixels

The iPad Pro, or whatever its name will be, is a device that has been rumored for the longest time. While there’s still nothing official about it, the reports are pouring in, especially after the first beta of iOS 9 — check out our hands-on here — and the last time we heard the large slate mentioned was regarding the keyboard included with the latest version of Apple’s mobile OS.

On that exact vein, as people continue to dissect iOS 9 beta, the code reveals more evidence that the iPad Pro might exist in the near future. The image reveals screen resolutions listed inside the code of iOS 9, and, while the code specifically refers to a resolution of 1366 by 1024 pixels, the developer who made the discovery believes that this might point towards an iPad Pro (iPad Air Plus, you name it) with a screen resolution of 2732 by 2048 pixels. This is due to the way Apple is employing its resolution scaling, and, if the reports turn out to be true, said resolution on a 12.9-inch screen (there were also reports of a 12.2-inch screen) will result in a PPI rating of about 270.

That being said, what do you think would be the clever move from Apple? iOS 9 on a 12.9-inch iPad Pro, or Mac OS X? Maybe both, of a combination of the two? Let us know in the comments below!
