TaiG jailbreak arrives for iOS 8.1.2
It was just yesterday we were talking about Apple releasing iOS 8.1.2 as a security and bug-fixing update for its line of iOS devices, so we weren’t expecting to be back so soon letting you know that the software has already been jailbroken, this iOS 8.1.2 jailbreak brought to you by team TaiG.
Early indications from prominent jailbreakers after the update dropped were that the vulnerability TaiG used as a jailbreak injection mechanism had remained untouched, which meant that with just an update the team could make the jailbreak work with 8.1.2. TaiG has delivered on that today, with version 1.2 of its software which is fully compatible with iOS 8.1.2-running devices. All devices on the latest version of iOS can make use of the tool.
In case you’re not familiar, jailbreaking allows you to install what’s known as Cydia, a store that allows for downloads of custom tweaks to almost any part of the operating system. It’s often held in the same vein as rooting Android devices.
Unfortunately, TaiG is still Windows-only as of right now, so if you’re a Mac user with jailbreaking aspirations you’ll either have to wait or make arrangements to use Windows to go through with the process yourself.
