Apple reveals iOS 7 availability

The big news from Apple’s event today is almost certainly going to come on the hardware side of things, but there are still big developments being made in software. Before we get to the phones, Apple had some news to share about iOS 7, announcing plans for the software’s release.

After June’s announcement, and keeping abreast of all the beta release to come out in the months since, we’ve already had a pretty good read on what to expect from iOS 7. Today Apple reiterated many of those points, talking about new features like iTunes Radio and better photo management.

But it’s not a feature list we’ve been waiting for: we’d like to know just when iOS 7 will be available to the public. Today Apple has shared its distribution plans, announcing that the iOS 7 update will become available to users on September 18.
