iOS 7.1 was also Jailbroken on the iPhone 4s

Recently we saw how iOS 7.1 was jailbroken, but judging by the video that we caught, we understood that this was only applicable to the iPhone 4 running on Apple’s legacy A4 chip. Obviously the difference in processor architecture poses an additional challenge to developers in finding exploits, and thus makes jailbreaking difficult across the the whole iOS line-up of products. Today we hear new progress for jailbreaking iOS 7.1 which we’re sure will make many of you happy.

In a response on Twitter, developer iH8sn0w confirmed that his iPhone 4s is Jailbroken on iOS 7.1. Given the fact that the iPhone 4s is still quite popular in the market, those of you interested in Jailbreaking should be happy that at least your device is covered. Given the fact that the iPhone 4s uses Apple’s A5 chip, this also means that devices like the original iPad mini, the iPad 2, and even the 1080p variant of the Apple TV should be covered eventually.

We don’t know if this solution is untethered though, so stay tuned as more progress develops on the matter. iH8sn0w did claim that he has no intentions on making his work available to the masses, but we’re sure he’ll share his secret with somebody.
