Experiencing a new smartphone is great, but what’s even better is getting the chance to try one out before anyone else. Do you read about all the leaks we get to see with a sense of longing, wondering why that couldn’t be you with insider access to development hardware? Are you a little jealous when we get our hands on pre-launch devices in order to bring you a first-person account as soon as they launch? We totally don’t blame you.
The good news is that we’re not bringing this up just to rub it in your face. Instead, we want to help let you in on the action, too.
Last month Huawei announced the start of its public Friendly User Testing program. Historically, its FUT operations were done in-house, tasking employees and their family members with putting new devices through the wringer in order to spot bugs, smooth-out the user experience, and generally prepare for a commercial launch. Now Huawei’s invited interested smartphone users to sign up as Huawei Explorers and get the chance to join this FUT program for themselves.
But even then, you’re competing with a lot of other smartphone fans who are just as excited as you at the prospect of playing with some pre-launch hardware. Luckily, Huawei has a special treat for Pocketnow readers, and is working with us to give away five guaranteed spots to become a Friendly User Testing participant.
If you live in the US, are 18 or over (or have your parent or guardian sign off), and are interested in testing an upcoming Huawei device, put your name in the running for one of those FUT spots by completing the entry form below. All you have to do to qualify is follow both Pocketnow and Huawei USA on Twitter. Then in one week we’ll choose the five winners to enroll as Huawei testers. And if you don’t win here, remember you can always register with Huawei directly for another chance to participate. Good luck!
Update: Thanks to everyone who entered! We’ll be contacting the winners over the next couple days.
