Huawei Mate 8 benchmark data shows off six-inch 1080p display

Huawei likes its Mates big. From the Ascend Mate 2 4G LTE to the Ascend Mate 7, the Chinese manufacturer seems to be in love with half-foot screens for its powerhouse devices. The Mate S took things down a step to 5.5 inches as it was launched ahead of the iPhone 6s Plus.

But things look to be back in the swing of six as a GFXBench index card pops up for the heavily-anticipated Huawei Mate 8.

Lots of stand-out specs here, including a theoretical 64GB storage option, 4GB of RAM, and the odd camera sensor resolutions. The company also seems comfortable to keep the six-inch 1080p display resolution from the Ascend Mate 7.

This will also be Huawei’s first original native-Android Marshmallow device and the second Android 6.0 device it has manufactured.

A more puzzling revelation is the lack of fingerprint scanner noted in the “Features” section, especially considering that the Nexus 6P has one. But again, seeing rumors from earlier today, it’s likely more to do with GFXBench notarizing features than anything else.
