Windows Phone 8 headlines as of late may have been dominated by the likes of HTC and Nokia, but there are other upcoming WP8 handsets that we’re still waiting to get the full picture on. We’ve talked before about two rumored WP8 phones from Huawei, the Ascend W1 and W2. Most recently, we heard that the W1 was on-track for release in November or December, and today we get a look at what’s supposedly the hardware itself.

Like much of the Windows Phone 8 lineup that’s been revealed thus far (Samsung excluded), the W1 looks like it will be quite the colorful handset. You can see it in cyan here, and based on what we’ve seen from HTC and Nokia, we’d wager a guess that the W1 will have additional color options, as well.

Unlike the other WP8 hardware we’ve heard about, taking full advantage of the new specs supported by the OS, the W1 will stick with a WVGA display. That’s a four-inch component, and along with 512MB RAM and 4GB flash, it paints the picture of a budget-priced handset. Huawei didn’t skimp on everything, though, and at least the W1 should have a dual-core 1.2GHz SoC.

Due to its cost-saving construction, the W1 could sell for as cheaply as $310, without subsidies.
