There have been a couple of occasions over the past few weeks where we’ve had the opportunity to check out leaked renders of the Huawei Ascend P6. Though the manufacturer may not have the clout of a Samsung or even an HTC, the P6 nonetheless looked like a pretty attractive handset, and wowed us with its exceptional thinness. While we had heard a few rumors about the handset’s capabilities before, hard numbers had been lacking. Today we flesh out our understanding of the P6 a bit upon the apparent leak of a number of its hardware specs.

Early chatter mentioned the possibility of a 1080p screen, but more recent rumors had suggested the presence of a 720p display – that’s reiterated in today’s leak, mentioning a 4.7-inch 720p screen. The P6 will reportedly be powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core SoC (presumably the K3V2) and run a new version of Huawei’s Emotion UI (above).

The P6’s camera capabilities sound pretty interesting, with a relatively high-res five-megapixel front-facer (featuring “face enhance” technology) and an eight-megapixel backside illuminated sensor for its main shooter with a macro lens capable of serious close-ups.

Finally, the Ascend P6’s claim to fame gets verified once again, as these specs assert that the phone will measure a mere 6.18 millimeters thick.
