HTC is rumored to launch the quad-core Edge at the 2012 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona according to the latest info we’ve seen yesterday. Even more, according to the latest reports, the Taiwanese company will completely skip CES Tegra-3 powered device-wise and wait for MWC to show them off.

The report comes from a note to investors from JP Morgan Chase analyst Alvin Kwok; he believes HTC is going to withhold its quad-core phones until the end of February, when the MWC is kicking off on the 27th. If we come to think of it, the move might be a logical one: CES is known for general consumer electronics while MWC is all about the mobile world. As far as devices go, we are hearing more and more of the HTC Edge, rumored to sport a quad-core nVidia Tegra 3 chip with frequencies of 1.5GHz per core. Will there be anything else up the sleeve? We’ll be there for hands-on, that’s for sure!
