Sprint is finally coming around to Windows Phone 8, and will belatedly embrace the platform as it adds two WP8 models to its lineup this summer. Rumors have suggested that these two initial handsets will be Samsung’s ATIV S, which got sort of a bum rap when it first launched in spite of being a pretty attractive higher-end WP8 model, along with the HTC model we’ve been referring to as codename Tiara. As we wait to get confirmation on the carrier’s plans, some evidence of a new HTC Windows Phone handset for Sprint has begun to surface, possibly backing up this Tiara rumor.

One app’s server logs show connections being made by a device identifying itself as the HTCP0881_Sprint. While we haven’t seen that model number before, the combination of HTC and Sprint has us seriously wondering if this couldn’t just be the Tiara.

So far, we’ve seen a short spec sheet leak out, attempting to reveal what to expect from Tiara’s hardware, but have had little clue as to how the phone might appear, or under what name it could publicly launch. This find doesn’t bring us any closer to either answer, but it sure has us thinking that those rumors about Tiara being one of Sprint’s WP8 launch devices could be spot-on.
