HTC Shooter: Dual-Core, qHD HTC EVO 3D?
A previously unknown device called the HTC Shooter has performed a single test on the site GLBenchmark, and based on its self-reported specs, Blog of Mobile!!! is speculating that Shooter is the upcoming HTC EVO 3D. Also going by model number PG86100 — which has yet to show up at a single certification body — this model claims to sport a 540 x 960 qHD display of unknown dimensions, and run the 2.3.2 Gingerbread build of Android on Sprint’s network. Even more revealing, its GPU, the Adreno 220, is scheduled to be incorporated in several upcoming Qualcomm chipsets, and based on the wireless standard as well as the timing, Blog of Mobile!!! suspects that Shooter is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core MSM8660 Snapdragon.
GLBenchmark, as its name suggests, is a site which aggregates OpenGL benchmarking results for a slew of consumer electronics devices running its software.
Now these specs sound awfully close to the rumored breakdown of the HTC Pyramid we caught a glimpse of yesterday, although the Pyramid is likely to be a GSM handset, tipped for a T-Mobile debut in the US. If Shooter really is the EVO 3D, all should be revealed next week at CTIA in Florida, where it is expected to launch alongside a version of the Samsung Nexus S suitable for Sprint.
