HTC Desire Eye Sense UI

We’ve spent the last few weeks discussing how HTC will implement Android 5.0 Lollipop mixed with its proprietary HTC Sense user interface. What’s odd is for any OEM to launch such a major software update before the announcement of a future flagship smartphone, since this is a good selling point. None of the rumors we’ve caught have mentioned a new version of Sense being launched along with the Android 5.0 Lollipop update, and now we understand why.

The same source that leaked Android 5.0 Lollipop on the HTC One M8 a few days ago has just revealed that HTC will differentiate its 2015 flagship with a new HTC Sense 7. HTC usually launches a new flagship in March or April, and we’ll most likely learn more about what we’ll see in this new UI in the next few weeks. What’s important about this leak is that the source also claims that HTC Sense 7 will reach the existing 2014 lineup as early as May 2015.

At this point it’s hard to predict what will happen to devices like the original HTC One from 2013, but we’ll keep you posted as we learn more.
