HTC One mini 2 Lollipop update cancelled, company blames it on user experience

If you have an HTC One mini 2 (aka One M8 mini), like we do, you are wondering when exactly will you receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop update, just like your friends rocking the One M8. Currently, the One mini 2 is running Android 4.4.2, and it sure looks like that’s what it will stay one. In October of last year, HTC confirmed that the device will get Lollipop at one point down the road, but now it has been confirmed that the HTC One mini 2 Lollipop update won’t happen.

The Taiwanese phone maker said on Twitter, replying to a customer inquiry on the refresh, that it “determined that Lollipop on the One mini 2 will not provide an optimal experience; it isn’t scheduled to receive the update“. Bad news, if you come to think of it, but HTC claims it only has your user experience in mind when taking such a decision.
