Even with the recent launch delays for the HTC One M9 in Taiwan, the company has already committed to launch the device in the US at the same time as the Galaxy S6. In addition to this flagship, we’ve also heard a ton of rumors of a more powerful variant in the works. If sticking with the specs of the HTC One M9 spell compromise for you, let’s talk about its more powerful sibling.

So far we’ve talked about the HTC One M9 Plus as the new flagship to come from Taiwan, but rumors claim that the final name might be the HTC One M9+, something which resembles the old One X+ days. The source claims that we should expect two variants, one for the EMEA region sporting an MT6795 octa-core processor, and a Snapdragon 810 processor for the US variant. Both variants would sport a Quad-HD display in addition to a fingerprint scanner, though the rest of the internals are still up for debate.

More interesting is the claim that we should expect it to be announced around the end of March or early in the second quarter. We’d  bet on seeing this later since we don’t think HTC wants to steal the One M9’s thunder, but sales of the Galaxy S6 should also spell action for the company.
