HTC gave shoppers a lot of reason to be happy during the recent holiday weekend sales event, offering deals on the Nexus 9, One M9, and more. Those included the new One A9, and the manufacturer invited users to trade in their existing handset for either a straight-up free One A9, or one that comes at a big discount. While a lot of those offers have since wrapped up, HTC is apparently very pleased with just how much gear it was able to sell, and today shares a few details about its recent spree of retail success, as well as lets us know about an extension to one of those deals.
Compared to last year’s Black-Friday-through-Cyber-Monday weekend, HTC’s online sales were up a stunning 731 percent. Chalk it up to better deals, better promotion, or whatever you like, but regardless of the reason, HTC just moved a ton of hardware.
The company also notes that quite a few shoppers took advantage of its offer to trade in an iPhone 6 or better for a free One A9 – more than ten percent of people participating in the trade-in deal made just such a swap. Hoping to keep that momentum going, HTC is extending that promotion into the new year.
You have between now and January 7 to take HTC up on its proposition. Keep in mind, you can find an iPhone 6 in acceptable condition for $400 or less at sites like Swappa. With a new HTC One A9 going for $500, there’s the potential to save quite a bit on your purchase.
