HTC One max

The twists and turns of the path of Nexus came to a head last year with two phones from different manufacturers — one a Google favorite, the other a rising star. Trade winds blew in word that a troubled legacy phonesmaker would be making both of this year’s Nexus smartphone entries.

Noted HTC leaker @LlabTooFeR has tracked down “alleged” HTC Nexus device codenames.

There’s little precedent for this codename format in both Nexus and HTC phone portfolios. As far as Android devices go, the closest analogue we could put to these names is the T6 device, known to us as the HTC One Max.

The codenames could be referring to the two screen sizes of the supposed devices. If all the speculation plays out, the 5- and 5.5-inch phones would both take a 0.2-inch reduction on screen real estate from the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P respectively.

It was in March of last year that we saw the players and pieces coming together for the current-gen Nexus picture. The hype train seems to be ahead of schedule.
