HTC M8 may pack larger screen, dual rear camera sensors

Last night brought us a new, weird look at the HTC M8, courtesy of a case design that revealed a whole lot going on around the phone’s back. A superfluous cutout suggested either a fingerprint sensor or maybe something to do with those rumors of multiple camera lens options. Today, one of Bloomberg’s sources has a couple things to say about HTC’s plans for the phone, and may provide an explanation for that odd case.

The source mentions “twin sensors” which sounds like we’re talking about two distinct camera components, rather than a single camera with multiple lenses. Some of you in the comments yesterday put forth similar theories, and this seems to give them credence.

We also hear that HTC may be going with a larger display than the 4.7-inch panel on the One, hitting five inches at a minimum. As for a name, all this source offers is that the phone will still be a “One” model; does that mean that we’re looking at the HTC One 2014, or maybe that rumored One+?

Finally, rather than the February launch we saw last year, this year’s announcement would supposedly take place sometime in March. With the GS5 expected around the same time, we could a busy month to look forward to.
