HTC One Mini

HTC introduced its first One back in February of last year; five months later, the One Mini (above) joined it. So, unsurprisingly, for much of the time we’ve been talking about the M8 arriving as this year’s One, the notion of an M8 Mini has been bouncing around alongside it. Earlier this year, those rumors started getting quite specific, identifying part of a model number and later delivering detailed hardware info, including a 4.5-inch 720p display. Tonight this all new HTC One Mini is back in our thoughts, as a carrier seems to have inadvertently listed the phone on its website.

Swedish carrier Telia made the gaffe, initially listing the M8 Mini among its phones that would support HD Voice. While it later removed the entry, when asked about the situation in the comments, the carrier admits that it made an error, but not because the M8 Mini doesn’t exist; instead it says that it wanted the list to only reflect “models we have in our catalog right now.” Read between the lines, and Telia might be seen to have knowledge of forthcoming M8 Mini launch plans.

Granted, there’s a chance that Telia was just acting on the same sorts of rumors that the rest of us have been hearing, but while we wouldn’t be surprised to see companies like case manufacturers get quite so over-eager, carriers are generally a more reliable bunch.
