Just when we thought that the smartphone world was in store for a couple months of quiet, following the iPhone 6 launch and in advance of the bustling holiday season, HTC’s been popping-up all over the place with rumors of new hardware. If we’re not talking about plans for a Nexus 9 tablet with Google, we’re wondering what’s in store for next month’s “double exposure” event. Our best guess yet at the latter has it featuring both a new camera accessory and the long-rumored HTC Eye selfie phone. Over the weekend, a few new rumors attempted to reveal a bit more about the Eye’s hardware, while also teasing a confusingly-named M8 Eye and a brand-new HTC Windows Phone (or is it just Windows?) handset.

First up, the Eye. We don’t have much here, aside from the claim that the phone will feature a 5.2-inch 1080p display and run a Snapdragon 801.

Things get a little more interesting for the M8 Eye, described as version of the One M8 that switches to the E8’s 13MP camera, though while still keeping the Duo Camera arrangement. Why HTC would have two devices in development with such similar codenames (yet which sources insist are distinct models) eludes us.

Finally, we see brief mention of another HTC Windows Phone model, this time with a larger screen than the One M8, almost certainly putting the handset into phablet territory. The rest of the hardware isn’t yet described, and of all three of these reports, this one probably has the weakest sourcing. Still, it’s something we’ll be keeping an eye out for, in the hopes that further evidence might emerge.
