In this video, we unbox the sleek, sexy, and massive-screened HTC HD2, a phone that will go down as one of the most impressive smartphones of this year. It brings the first capacitive display to Windows Mobile, plus a ragingly fast 1GHz CPU, and an ample 448MB of RAM.
First impressions? The device is very pocketable despite it having such a large screen. This is because the HD2's screen goes from edge to edge, without much wasted space. This makes for an intense viewing experience unlike any other device. The iPhone, with its relatively small 3.5' screen, looks like a wimp next to the HD2.
I'm sure you're all curious about the screen. We're going to be talking a lot about it coming up soon, but I can tell you that interestingly, using the HD2 feels similar to using an HTC Touch Pro2, meaning, while the screen is very sensitive, it's probably only 25% more sensitive than the Touch Pro2. What feels different is the actual feel of the display...it's made from a hard piece of glass, versus the glass/plastic combination found on recent resistive Windows Mobile devices. We'll talk more about this in the hardware tour video.
If you're looking to pick up a shiny new HD2 of your own, they are now shipping at Clove.co.uk. We'll be back soon with more!
