The old guard is going away.

The Nexus Player just left the Google Store and the Nexus 9 left not long before that. Now we know that HTC is completely done with its own-made tablet as well.

The company has said to CNET that it has ended its manufacturing run of the Nexus 9 and has a limited number available at its site. Indeed, all but the white 16GB version are still there on HTC’s site as of this post. After several Hot Deal Tuesdays that had the slab discounted by hundreds of dollars, you’ll still have to pay full price for these products.

Will this clear the way for HTC to possibly make new Nexus products this year? We’ll have to see this fall.
