Weirdly enough, HTC’s Desire EYE isn’t your average Desire family member in the same way a device like the Desire 610 or Desire 816 is: it also brings along with it pretty premium specs. Just how good are those specs, though, when compared to HTC’s metal-clad flagship, the One M8? We’re here to find out, in our full HTC Desire EYE vs HTC One M8 specs comparison.

It isn’t an all-out win for either side, but it is clear which is the flagship here. The One M8 scoops up four wins total in our spec categories below, while the Desire EYE pics up a mere two – both being because of the monstrous front and rear-facing 13MP BSI cameras.

And that’s the main takeaway here: these devices are quite similar to each other, but you should only really grab the Desire EYE if metal isn’t your thing (or rather, you could do without), and camera quality – both front and back – is of utmost importance to you. The word’s still out on just how well the 13MP cameras will do, as we know quite well that megapixels aren’t everything, but things are looking quite good on paper.
