HTC Desire 826 hands-on (Video)

Coming into CES 2015, we had our eyes open for news of some new mid-rangers from HTC. After all, the company had dropped that teaser with its pretty overt call-out to the Desire line of handsets, and sure enough, that’s just what we got: last night, HTC introduced the Desire 826.

The specs HTC revealed made the phone sound a lot like the Desire Eye, especially with that 13-megapixel front-facing camera. Really, the biggest changes seemed to be the 826 going with a Snapdragon 615 as opposed to the Eye’s 801, and the slight difference in screen size, with the 826’s 5.5-inch 1080p panel a smidge larger than the Eye’s 5.2-inch screen.

But that 13MP front-facer 826 isn’t the only hardware configuration HTC plans to deliver, and we’ll also be seeing the arrival of a Desire 826 with an UltraPixel sensor up front, all ready to shine in low-light environments – and considering how the 826 drops the Eye’s front-facing flash, that could be a very good thing.

We checked out just that UltraPixel-eqippped 826 for ourselves, replete with Android Lollipop and Sense 6.0. While this is only a short hands-on, watch to see what we managed to find:
