More than a month after Sprint passed out its version of Android Marshmallow onto the HTC Desire 626s, T-Mobile and prepaid subsidiary MetroPCS have gotten their act together in moving Android 6.0.1 onto the device.

HTC’s Mo Versi managed the product on Twitter:

T-Mobile & MetroPCS Desire 626s Owners! Update for Marshmallow and enhanced messaging (RCS) capability will be OTA’d on Monday 7/25. Thanks!

Well, that is his job, right? Product management?

Anyways, the pertinent number to look for is software version 2.17.531.1 and you should be able to receive the OTA by July 25. If you’d prefer a quick install, we’ve linked the T-Mobile support page for the device. where there’s a download link for the package.
