HTC may still have a couple rungs to climb on the smartphone manufacturer ladder before it’s up there with companies like LG (to say nothing of Samsung), but 2014 has seen the company deliver some very attractive smartphones, interesting accessories, and hardware that crossed platform boundaries – not to mention an overdue return to tablets. What’s next for HTC? Senior Global Online Communications Manager Jeff Gordon is talking about just that on Twitter today, and to hear the hype he’s delivering, 2015 is going to be one big year.

Gordon writes about being “overwhelmingly excited” for HTC’s upcoming product lineup, and while he doesn’t give us a breakdown of exactly what to expect, he claims the “2015 roadmap will be our best ever.”

We already know about plans for a second-gen RE camera, we’ve heard plenty of rumors about the flagship Hima/One M9, and it still remains to be seen if anything will come of HTC’s smartwatch plans. But could there be something we’ve yet to even pick up on yet? Gordon teases “huge surprises that will blow you away,” so HTC may well have something wholly unexpected for the company in the works – something that would be as out-of-character as the RE camera seemed when we first learned of it. Unfortunately, that’s the extent of the preview we get for now, and will have to wait for the new year itself to start looking for new details on these plans.
