We have some of the clearest spoilers of what has been characterized as HTC’s last stand in mobile. Or, something like that. But it doesn’t come without its share of doubt, especially when it comes to the front panel of the HTC 10.

But if you’d like to poke at the new flagships’ backs — the listing sticks to the “original metal shell” or “battery cover back shell” — in silver and black, go right ahead and take a look at some pictures from a Chinese equivalent of eBay, Taobao.

At least HTC gets to continue to show its thoughtfulness in manufacturing machines like these. The company has carved itself a nice vessel to keep its components in, with intricate markings on the inside of the shells.

Otherwise, we’re talking about the same beveled edges and the samer old look. We don’t know what this would-be phone, specifically called out as the “HTC 10u,” represents in terms of development stage. But we’re days away from comparing and contrasting.

The shells were put on Taobao by a five-year site veteran for ¥190 or $29. The site says that the item is “temporarily” unavailable and the accompanying description and pictures are gone, too. We bet this will probably be a one-run sale.
