If you’re a smartphone fan who doesn’t mind a few surprises being ruined, this year’s been an absolutely fabulous time to be following the stories of upcoming models, as rumors and leaks absolutely devastate much hope of a flagship managing to keep its secrets under wraps until launch day. Whether we’ve been looking at the Samsung Galaxy S7, LG G5, or even Apple with its new iPhone SE, sources close to the development of this hardware have been eager to to give us early previews of what to expect, inundating us with spec reports, feature breakdowns, and pic after pic of hands-on goodness. Now it’s the HTC 10’s turn to share its story a little ahead of schedule, and the latest chapter comes in the form of some brand new photos of phone hardware.
Renders have suggested HTC will bring a variety of color options to its soon-to-launch flagship, and pics of actual hardware have been helping us confirm some of those configurations. Today we have the opportunity to check out two of those at once, with pics comparing a light gray version of the HTC 10 with one of HTC’s darker options.
Neither shot is particularly illuminating; we’ve seen the phone like this before, although the shifting lighting conditions do manage to help emphasize the degree of raised camera lens to expect. Perhaps more than anything, at this point we turn to leaks to help verify our predictions about the phone, and try to assure ourselves that no late-in-development changes have popped up to lead us astray.
Look for HTC to formally welcome the HTC 10 to its smartphone lineup with a streaming April 12 event.
