HTC has recently released the Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread update for the HTC Desire after a long wait and lots of going back and forth. In the final ROM that was published to the Dev site, HTC removed wallpapers, a couple of apps and carrier customizations to make the update thinner.

As you may know, HTC will not push the update out over-the-air and this will be the only Gingerbread update to ever officially hit the Desire. It is recommended for advanced users but in this video we’ll walk you through the process of updating your phone to the Gingerbread ROM. Check it out below and remember that the update will erase all of your data on the phone (will not touch the SD card though) so make sure to back everything up nicely.
