Time for a little bit of alphabet soup. No, we’re not talking about that Alphabet. And we’re not talking about the letter you might be thinking of.
Rumors around Chinese social media continue to strike up talk about an upgraded OnePlus 3 with a Snapdragon 821 and an IPS LCD, even though Carl Pei has publicly insisted on the company’s “Optic AMOLED” technology being far superior and that it would keep using it.
Weibo still persists, though, with a name change. Instead of talking about a “OnePlus 3S,” following the naming convention made famous by Apple for denoting iterative device updates, we see “OnePlus 3T” making the rounds. One post from a company account, pictured above and now deleted, revealed the device’s name in the post metadata.
juggly.cn reports that instead of “special,” we may find the extra letter standing for “turbo”.
Will “T” be a trick or treat? We’ll have to find out eventually.
