Honor has existed under Huawei’s umbrella for four years and has produced quite the portfolio of smartphones based on its parent company’s releases. One of the signature series has been the X-series.

Across four iterations, the mission has been consistent: hold the line on an entry-level price while providing mid-range performance hardware in a decent-looking package.

Well, it looks like the effort has paid off. The Honor 5X and 6X were some of the more popular unlocked devices being sold in the open market. As the Honor 7X begins to ship out to customers, there’s news that the company has logged its 40 millionth X-series sale.

It looks like we may see millions more sales coming next year to chip into Huawei’s smartphone shipments column — it aims to surprass Samsung for the global crown soon.
