Those of you who’ve been around the block, perhaps doing the new iPhone rumor dance every year as an unusual form of self-torture, probably know Apple likes to keep a few cards close to the chest for as long as possible.
Then again, there’s rarely smoke without fire, and boy, have tipsters and leakers fumed of late, telling the tale of a pair of familiar overall iOS handsets, featuring just one or two aesthetic novelties.
For convenience’s sake dubbed iPhone 7 and 7 Plus despite maybe still carrying 6-derived branding, these bad boys have shown their faces, profiles and backsides primarily in protective attire, concept renders and CADs, with some blurriness usually involved.
But today, it’s time to check out the subtly redesigned rear of the 4.7-inch model sans obstructions, cloudiness or veracity concerns. We’re almost certainly looking at the real deal here, and it’s… as unremarkable as predicted.
Sleeker, thinner, less protrusive antenna lines – check. Wider and, most likely, more prominent camera? Double check. No traditional headphone jack? No way to tell. Double the speakers and double the rear snappers on the plus-sized model? Ditto. Revised, non-physical home button, facilitating water resistance? Once again, this is merely a posterior iPhone 7 angle providing answers to a limited set of questions.
