Hidden iOS 7 settings show more enhancements considered

By Jaime Rivera June 19, 2013, 3:53 am

Those of us that have followed Apple for a while know that the company is about prototyping, or at least, that’s how we know Jony Ive likes to operate. They rarely ever discard an idea until they test it and get a feel for it, even if most of these ideas are not worth implementation. In the case of iOS 7, given the dramatic changes to the look and feel of the operating system, a lot of us assumed that Apple tested a vast amount of options before defining what was going to be released in the final build, and according to some leaked videos we found today, we weren’t wrong.

As it turns out, a hidden iOS 7 settings menu shows us that a lot of experimentation happened before the announcement. In the video bellow you can see the different added options that were tested, like the ability to create folders within folders, or the option to hide pre-installed apps as another highly requested feature. We even find new gestures being tested for multi-tasking or closing folders as well.

Historically we have seen Apple change their minds though, and usually the following betas of each version of iOS have shed some light on what’s coming or getting discarded. We’ll keep you posted as this develops into more or less things.
