Hands-on with Duo, Google’s new video chat app (Video)

As much as we’d like to say that we are all over Skype, we have to remind ourselves that FaceTime isn’t an Android-friendly phenomenon, either. Neither is Google Hangouts an international sensation.

So, does Duo bring Mountain View’s video chatting services to parity or is it something better? Will you feel and be more secure with end-to-end encryption? Will the Knock Knock feature catch your face (or whatever) when you’re not ready? And does this really make video calling on-the-go less painful with switches between LTE and Wi-Fi?

Most importantly, will you stick with one phone (and one phone number) just to use Duo?

Our Juan Carlos Bagnell has your first look in this hands-on video.
